Microsoft Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS), Microsoft Global Exchange

How do you develop and produce three distinct, yet thematically connected keynotes given on one day to the same audience? You gather a spectacular team, create an expansive theme, and plan to sleep when it’s over! And it doesn’t hurt to develop a solid reason to invite Bill Gates to be a guest speaker.

The WWPS Senior VP wanted to motivate her worldwide sales team to expand the breadth and depth of Microsoft solutions in the Public Sector: Health, Education and Government. Utilizing the power and imagery of ‘The Ripple Effect’ as a metaphor for the impact that WWPS employees have on the world around them, we tailored creative content to support the varied objectives for each keynote.

For the first keynote, we created staging and media to help our Senior VP rally and inspire the troops. We used humor in the second presentation to introduce the new VP of Global Sales Initiatives and crafted an onstage leadership forum focused on strategy. The final keynote began with a powerful video and live performance that introduced surprise guest speaker, Bill Gates. Speaking about Microsoft’s worldwide Unlimited Potential campaign, Mr. Gates directly linked the work of the WWPS sales force to Microsoft’s greater vision for a PC in every home around the world.

A good day: Our client’s audience scores increased significantly over the previous year’s event, the theme, People Ready to Impact the World, was utilized throughout the following year for internal communications, and we were invited back to produce the event the next year!

The Team was: Peter Howland
